Day 40 & 41: My First Bug Off!… Failure…

On Friday afternoon of last week, my brother visited my apartment and brought his 3DS so that we could streetpass! Now, he didn’t bring his AC game… (I wanted to practice duping… grrr…) but I still learned something cool! If you simply pass by someone who has AC data on their 3DS, even if they don’t have the game in, they will still join your HHA showcase!

Image

Anyhow, I’m way more of a persistent player, so he’ll probably get more out of my house being in his showcase 🙂 Speaking of my house, my golden walls were installed! My house looks so epic now…

Image

My Saturday morning was off to an odd start. Normally I might find one or two bamboo shoots lying around but I found seven?!? Is that even possible? Aw well, the more bamboo the merrier!

Image

I was then given some bad news.. Victoria wanted to move! After my long hours crushing on her and sending her many many letter…. She broke my heart 😦 Luckily after our conversation, I convinced her to stay (I seriously think she’s into me, as far as AC:NL can go haha)

Image

I was also psyched on Saturday morning because of the Town Hall, which had been remodeled in Zen fashion. It looks so great and matches the rest of my town now!

Image

I’m gonna update the website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com), but the next thing on my agenda is getting Zen lanterns, benches, etc. To get these, I need a “grumpy” character to recommend them, which I have 1, Frank. I will work on a list so you can see which character can get you which styled public works projects.

Now! Back on topic, I went by the event plaza and met Nat for the first time. Normally I don’t have much time to play on the weekends, so I always miss the bug off!

Image

I saw Katie roaming around, but like I said, my time is limited, so I let her be… haha…

Image

For the bug contest, I caught a simply fruit beetle, nothing special. It got me 37 points and propelled me to 1st place. Nat gave me a dirt-clod wall, which is a special insect collection item you can only get at the bug off!

Image

That’s all the time I had on Saturday. Unfortunately, I ended up losing my position, but it was cool to get the wall still.

Sunday morning, I couldn’t help but stare at my house some more.. I really do love it. I also put in a cabana mailbox (because I switched my HHA points back to “basic” instead of themed, more info on my website about the point systems).

Image

Cousteau had something up his butt when I passed by him… Ah well…. French animals are strange ones…

Image

I was able to work at Brewster’s on Sunday, completing all perfect orders. However, I didn’t receive a prize. I then visited Dr. Shrunk as well where I learned the Happiness emotion!

Image

Now I can smile, and did so to retake my ID card picture! Awesome! Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Image

For Tomorrow:

  • Meh.. More boring stuff 😛

Day 38 & 39: Perfect Town! Plus, I’m HHA VIP!

Sorry for the delayed post! Again, college is not fun… Anyway.. Yesterday morning, I went on some tours and earned myself a cabana wardrobe! One step closer to having a complete furniture set in that room!

Image

I swung by the new solar panel public works project to see it sitting there in the rain. So glad I built it!

Image

Cousteau looked entirely too happy to see me when I walked by, so I asked him what he wanted. He offered a game of hide and seek with him and Cobb… Well, how could I refuse? I also got a hefty time limit of 15 minutes! Not a problem!

Image

I took time during the game to do my daily chores. In the ore rock, I found another gold nugget! One more until I’m the proud owner of another piece of golden furniture!

Image

As you can tell… The game was very very difficult. You wouldn’t see these guys unless you looked very very closely… haha. The prize for winning was a polka-dot closet… Oh boy

Image

Anyway, I next crept over to check up on Victoria. Since she has a crush on me, I want to try a method I read online. Apparently if I talk to her 10 or more times a day, she’ll grow close enough to me to give me her picture. I’m putting the method to the test. However, when I arrived at her place, I found her sleeping… Awkward… lol

Image

I went to Nook Homes to check up on my score. Now that exterior themes were being monitored and I had the theme “Harmonious” (which my house is decked out in Zen material), I found my score had boosted itself to 550,000 points! Wow!

Image

Isabelle wanted to hold another super exciting ceremony… So many people showed up for the solar panel… It was nuts…

Image

When deciding my next one, I decided to create a sign for the catalog events that I hold on Gamefaqs.com! That was, it will look nice and professional 🙂 (for more info on my catalog events, visit my website.. http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)Image

Of course, it wasn’t fast before it was all paid off! I next visited Brewster’s to find Tortimer sitting in on a coffee. He invited me to sit with him… I think he was flirting with me? It was strange..

Image

Going BACK to Nook Homes, I found out that by earning 550,000 points, I had unlocked a golden roof and golden exterior option for my home. I, however, didn’t get the two tier prizes below that that I was missing, a gold HHA trophy or a gold house model. Very confused, I simply pressed on and waited for them to come in the mail (although there’s a different reason which I’ll touch on in a bit).

Image

I next visited Shrunk, who taught me his showmanship joke. Now I can flash people with stars to let them know who’s boss. Pretty neato 🙂

Image

I next went to work at Brewster’s. Same old deal, 4 perfect orders, one being from a cat named Olivia who does not live in my town…

Image

As a gift for doing so well, Brewster gave me a siphon, which will be a nice little addition to my kitchen (once I get counters and organize, it’s a mess in there!)

Image

Just out of complete curiosity as to where my town stood in ratings, I asked Isabelle to let me know what others thought. I was astounded when she said that people adored my town to the maximum and it was perfect! Was not expecting that! She then told me as a congratulations that two new public works projects would be opened, a remodel of the Town Hall building and a flower clock! Awesome!! 😀

Image

I also read online that updating your town’s dream address can bring in some money (because somehow you’re helping them out?) so I did it and got 5,000 bells easily.

Image

Thursday ended there and I decided to call it a day…

This morning, I awoke to sunshine unlike the rains of yesterday. I might try and visit the Reset Surveillance Center tonight (can only be visited from 8 pm to midnight on the night of a sunny day that follows a rainy day….. I know, confusing right?) so if I do I’ll post about it tomorrow. Anyway, I saw my golden roof. It’s a bit odd, but kind of cool!

Image

Walking around town, I found that Saharah was here! I invited her into my home and she gave me the shoji screen wall and sand garden floor, both of which will fit my Zen indoor theme when I’m ready to redecorate!

Image

I saw Victoria walking around and, of course, had to talk to her. She was really impressed that I was carrying around a watering can like a manly man 😉

Image

I went towards my station to post my new design promoting my catalog events (more information on my website, http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com). I chose a design featuring Tom Nook, kind of an old school one! 🙂

Image

I saw Phineas walking around and asked him for a badge. He presented me with a Good Shopper badge for buying so many items (about time this one came, geez)

Image

After getting my fancy badge, Gayle caught my attention. She told me she wanted to give me a shirt, so I gladly took it off her hands. I decided to keep talking to her, and she did something unexpected… Gave me 2 more shirts in a row… That’s a little bit odd…

Image

Can’t complain though! I went to Town Hall next and Isabelle wanted to conduct a ceremony for my little Catalog Event! sign. I went and a lot of the villagers showed this time around!

Image

As for the next project, the choice was a no brainer! I’ve been waiting for the town hall remodel for a long time, I just suspected I wasn’t close to having a perfect town. So I set up Lloid in the Town Hall to take donations on a Zen themed building. Of course, all funds were covered by me 🙂

Image

Hitting the town once again, Victoria got my attention, of course. She conveyed a rumor to me that people say I’m a happy tourist. Don’t know why I’m getting accused of this because I don’t really visit other people too often… Oh well!

Image

I decided to get out my old wetsuit and go for a dip in the ocean to possibly find more species of underwater life. I was reminded a bit of Where’s Waldo? in the process.

Image

All references aside, I also figured out that you can jump off of your town cliff and into the water! How cool!

Image

I visited Shrunk and he taught me his heartbreak joke…. Hope it’s not a sign. Now, the last thing I did today was visit Nook Homes. I was still kind of irked that I didn’t receive my two rightful prizes. I found something out.

If you choose to go with a theme (like me with “Harmonious”) the HHA judges interior & exterior and rates your points of which I got 550,000 on Thursday. You can tell Lyle to scrap the theme, which would bring me back down to 96,000 which my interior score was before the switch. I would have to achieve 150,000 in the “no-theme” mode to win my 2 remaining prizes, and then get 1,100,000 points in the combined area to achieve all exterior golden pieces. Hope that clears up the whole situation (and I know I’m not the only one who felt cheated once you pay off your entire home and join the HHA VIP).

For Tomorrow:

  • Reset Surveillance?
  • Town Hall remodel

Day 37: Short Playthrough (Just an update!)

Hey all! I didn’t have much time to play at all today so here’s just a quick update on the happenings of today. Lyle scared the crap out of me first thing this morning as he congratulated me on my paid off house. He said that my home’s exterior would now be included in my point value, as well as my theme (which I chose the Asian “Harmonious” theme!)

Image

Hopefully that’ll boost my HHA points a bit. I checked my mail to find that Gulliver had sent me my gift, a chinese lantern! It goes perfect in my main room of my house!

Image

Caught another balloon drifting around today. Even though I have all pieces of the balloon furniture set, you can only get a gold slingshot by shooting down a certain number of balloons, so I keep popping away! 😀

Image

Cousteau got a hold of me as I was going to check out my new train station. He basically shoved an exotic table into my hands, which I’m not complaining about because it fits my theme of my house exactly!

Image

The new train station looks so amazing! Again, I would like to thank everyone who participated in my catalog event! (For info on the next DLC catalog event, visit my website http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

Image

As you can see, I’m going for the zen theme, I can’t wait for more Japanese styled things to be unlocked so that they match my train station and house!

Image

I went to Ables’… Nothing too exciting… I tried on a skirt though!

Image

Once again, Labelle appeared surprised when I popped in the room, like she actually likes me now! She appeared snobby at first, but now she’s very kind in her mannerisms.

Image

I went home and redecorated a bit… Here’s how the main room of my house is looking as of now. It’s coming together very nicely!

Image

Also, apparently my dude liked to close his eyes every time I took a picture lol.. Sorry bout that! Anyway, I went to work at Brewster’s and served the daily four people. I was stunned to find that one of these, a monkey named Boone, didn’t even live in my town… Where did he come from? He was probably surprised when I made his coffee perfect (a guide on how to do this is on my website).

Image

The other thing I disproved was a theory that you get a new special item from Brewster every day that you complete 4 correct orders, because today I didn’t get one. I’m wondering if the coffee machine I first got was actually for 4 total correct orders and the espresso machine was actually for 8 (instead of 16 and 32, respectfully). I will try to look further into this and update the website.

Anyway, Cobb found me after work and told me he thinks a solar panel would be a great next public works project. What the heck, don’t have anything better to do, so….

Image

First I stopped off at Club LOL and Shrunk taught me the fearful emotion. Now I can tremble in fear at the sight of horrifying things lol

Image

I talked to Isabelle and we held a celebration for the new train station (the first one since the cafe that I’ve cared about…) and Porter even came! Sweetness.

Image

I chose a location near the event plaza to house the new public works project, the solar panel (go figure… right?)

Image

… and I’m proud to say it will be done tomorrow 😉

Image

Lastly, I would note that I added a new guitar to my music studio, and it’s looking pretty good so far!

Image

For Tomorrow:

  • I have a college assignment due… So probably another worthless day like this. We shall see though 🙂 All of the things from last blog, I should be working towards tomorrow as well!

Day 36: 100 VISITORS! (with DLC, catalog events and more!)

Hi there everyone! To start off, I wanted to make a note. You may notice the Japan DLC called kagamimochi. I thought it sounded familiar but I didn’t recognize it. However, yesterday I was at the World Market and found these! I used to get them all the time when I was younger, they are mochi balls! They are so tasty, and you should try them at least once 🙂

Image

Anyway, side note over. Yesterday, I finished up playing with the selling of a copy I had of the 24-hour-shop ABM (dang… duping is coming in useful). In return, I got another shaved-ice lamp, 5 million bells and some throwing beans! They’re pretty fun… for a useless hold item…

Image

The bells helped me get my account over 10 million in savings, which means a post office prize would be sent out! Yay!

Image

I headed up to Dr. Shrunk to see what new emotion I could learn. He taught me to be Surprised… Uh oh…

Image

On my way home before I called it quits, I saw Phineas walking around (what badge would I get now?) He gave me a silver badge for being a wealthy bell saver. Yes!

Image

That was all that wrapped up yesterday. Now on to today… What a day it has been. I’ll tell you, I’m tired right now after this morning… Anyway, I woke up to find a post-office poster as a prize in the mail! Pretty classy.

Image

That’s kinda funny because I try to imagine what it would be like if real post offices did this… haha. Anyway, my gift from Redd’s also came. I forgot to mention he was there yesterday. Now, the 1 (out of 4) “real” item of the lot was already in my museum, so I figured, why not get the really detailed naked woman statue? She’s pretty cute (the fake version I bought has longer hair… isn’t this a kid’s game?) and she looks good in my rococo room!

Image

I passed by the campground in town to find a very colorful visitor named Pietro. We played a game which ended in me buying a chalkboard off from him.

Image

Today I struck gold! Now I just need 2 more nuggets to make another golden furniture!

Image

I noticed on game startup a blue dot over the title, which generally means a new streetpass character is in the plaza. Once again, this guy was weird looking… (where on earth am I streetpassing these people at?)

Image

Luckily he had some pretty good items that would fit well in my home 🙂 Next, I scanned the beach and came upon Gulliver! He gave me another quiz (the answer obviously being China… Although I didn’t know they invented paper!)

Image

Today I was pleased to find out that I hit the 90,000 mark in HHA points! My house is getting better every time I redecorate 🙂

Image

I also had another milestone today. I paid off my final home loan! Now my mansion is complete! No more nasty loans from the Nook man 🙂

Image

In celebration, Nook sang me an ancient family song of his in Raccoonish. Didn’t catch a single word haha

Image

But it’s still a good thought 🙂 I visited Ables’ as per usual, and Labelle opened up to me a bit. She gave me a mannequin for always coming in! Now, those that don’t know… You can only get 4 in the game (the 4th coming from Gracie Grace once it opens), so I’m using mine in my Nintendo exhibit.

Image

Speaking of Nintendo exhibit, now Wario looks like a man! The last one will go to Mario over there, who’s now just a mustache lol

Image

Next, I decided to hold another DLC catalog event! I’m thinking of posting times on my website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com) on the DLC page that will give the time they will start. I want to start holding them every Tuesday (I’ll touch on this in a little). Point being, I didn’t even think I was close to my 100 visitor mark in the game, yet halfway through the catalog event, I saw Porter looking all sad. I asked him what’s wrong, and he said he wanted the train station redesigned!

Image

YES!! The moment I have been waiting for! I would definitely be starting the project in a little while. I talked to Erik while the catalog event was going on, and it appears he has gotten into using drugs as well…

Image

Didn’t even know succotash was a food… Anyway, after everybody came in today for the catalog event (which has a 500k bell ticket), I managed to rise above the 20 million bell mark in my bank! I want to thank each and every person who showed up!

Image

After the event, I was contacted by a friend online who wanted to dupe me some of their DLC in exchange for mine. That’s the great thing about this new technique (more about how to do it on my website), you don’t lose anything and neither do they. You both gain, and while people rant and rave about it, I think it’s a great thing. Anyway, today, I got a Yule log and turkey, both Japanese exclusives, out of the deal!

Image

As nice and generous as my friend is, she didn’t have to throw in more, but she did. She gave me the pair of Red and Blue New Year’s Hats as well! Awesome!

Image

After all that was done, I headed straight away to my town hall and started the train station project. It’s going to look so great and right in line with my Japanese style town! 😀

Image

Of course, a (now) wealthy individual who’s been waiting for this, I had no choice but to pay it off straight away…

Image

I found out that a kind person during the catalog event had planted some black tulips near the front of my town. That was sweet.

Image

I next went to work at Brewster’s. More compliments about my abilities surpassing the talented pigeon… Awesome! Also, I think the facts I found about # of correct orders = prizes are way off… because Brewster gave me an espresso machine today, and I most definitely have not made 32 perfect orders… I’ll try to look further into this later.

Image

Two letters arrived in the mail this afternoon. One was from the HHA, presenting me with a silver HHA trophy for excellent decorating skills…

Image

…and the other for my 20 million bells in savings at the post office, a badass looking safe! I’m becoming more of a mobster every day…

Image

The last thing I took up today was a visit to Shrunk, who taught me his love joke! Now I can show people I love them!

Image

I tried it out on Victoria… but all I got was a squint and smile…. when will she learn the truth? I send her letters… flowers…. she doesn’t get it yet….

Image

All jokes aside, a great way to end the day! 😀

For Tomorrow:

  • Supposed to meet with 2 players, one who has the 12 grape plate (Spanish New Year’s item) and one who has a Sushi Platter. We shall see…
  • An online friend  has invited to dupe me a TON of furniture sets! That would be cool! and another 24-hour-shop uniform
  • Updates to the website (for real this time, no backsies lol)

Day 35: The Era of Duping has Arrived…

This morning started off rather odd. I guess I haven’t played much at night, but I noticed at my town bulletin board that the normal bird that sits up there is replaced by an owl. I heard hooting and was confused haha.

Image

By and by, today a method was discovered for duplicating items that will change the economics of this game forever. It is called “duping”. Here is a guide on how to do it, it takes practice and complete trust in the person you are doing it with…

  1. Visit the town in which the duping will take place.
  2. The resident of the town (P1, we’ll call them) drops all of the items for duplication on their end.
  3. P2 (visiting player) picks up P1’s items and holds onto any items they will leave for duplication.
  4. P1 clicks start and saves the game. This is where trust is a huge issue. If wireless communication is lost at this point, P2 could potentially have all the items and not give them back. Only dupe with people you trust!
  5. After game save, P2 drops all of the items, including those P1 gave them and all they’re leaving for P1.
  6. P1 clicks starts and ends multiplayer session.
  7. P2 shuts off wireless communication while the game says “Saving.. Please do not turn off power.” This timing is the hardest part of duping. People say it’s after the saving ring makes 1 and a half cycles, but it will take practice!

If all works well, P1 should find all items on the ground where P2 left them (including those they “gave” to P2 and those that were left for them by P2) and P2 should be returned to their town with the game saved at the point where they were holding all of the items, thus creating 2 sets of items (1 for each player). So why is this such a big deal?

Well… Up to now, 7-11 items were going for 10 million bells a piece, with the ABD selling for as much as 20 million in auction. Today, the economics were tossed in the trash. Anybody can now replicate full 7-11 sets and give them away for free… So to sell the sets (or anything else “non-orderable” for that matter) will not fare very well online! This is good news for us on this blog, because we are proud to say that all 7-11 items are now fully available for you from our catalog!!!

Image

Yes, you heard right. The sandwich display, 24-hour-shop counter, 24-hour-shop sign, 24-hour-shop ABM, buffet server and steamed bun case. Have been added to our collection! All that’s left for us to do is to find another 24-hour-shop uniform (which if you’ve been keeping up on our blog, we traded away), but now it will be much easier! If you want us to let you catalog these (or even try to dupe them over to you!) visit our website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com).

Image

Now, as exciting as this was first thing this morning (and destructive for some people who worked hard to get the sets… which we started to…), that’s not at all the end of the excitement! If you remember, I picked up a rolling suitcase yesterday, the new exclusive Best Buy promotion item. Well, my European friend got in touch with me and agreed to trade his new Europe DLC, the white police cap! Both items are orderable, so naturally, it’s no problem to spread the love!

Image

Another European DLC item made its way to players yesterday via their mail. In a letter from Nintendo, players received a slushie machine, which I was graciously donated by another friend!

Image

I visited my cabana room and relocated the furniture after my last expansion. 1 more to go until my house is the biggest possible! 😀

Image

Shari caught my attention outside and told me she’d be moving… again… It worries me every time. I talked her out of it, but she might not stay too long 😦

Image

I ordered another rolling suitcase and decided to take it to Cyrus at Re-Tail. I saw a cool picture of a yellow finish on it, so I had it done! Awesome! 🙂

Image

I got no notable Nintendo items today 😦 just another Bill Blaster and a dud ticket. Maybe next time? I only have a handful of items until I complete the set…

Image

I swung by the post office and paid off my home loan! Easy peesy

Image

Isabelle wanted to hold a ceremony for the new bridge. It looks much better (at least, in my town’s theme haha)

Image

I went back to work as a barista today. As you remember, I put a guide up on my website for those interested in making correct orders every time. Frank even said I was as good as (if not better than) Brewster! Now that’s a compliment!

Image

I received some superb coffee beans today for doing all of my orders correctly. As a prize for doing so well, Brewster even gave me a coffeemaker for my home kitchen! Now I just need some darn counters…. I’m looking….

Image

I decided to go with jacob’s ladder in my fenced area for now. I redid some of the paths as well, tying them together with all of the villagers houses! My town’s looking great, can’t wait until tomorrow!

For Tomorrow:

  • I need to buy a sushi boat from an online acquaintance because my Japanese friend will then be willing to trade more DLC to me!
  • Updates on the website
  • The search for a 24-hour-shop uniform continues… Yeah, should’ve never gotten rid of mine…
  • I forgot! Buying turnips was the biggest mistake, because online forums are flooded with posts about duping… I sold them for only 134 bells per turnip… at least it’s a little profit.

Day 33 & 34: I’m a Barista! And BestBuy DLC Round 3!

On Saturday, very little happened, but here goes… You remember I got another shaved-ice lamp right? It was sitting in my museum and would prove useful as soon as I got a hold of my Japanese friend because she loves giving me rare DLC for them… 🙂

Image

Anyway, to complete Friday’s gameplay, I learned a new Dr. Shrunk emotion, Joy! Now I can make flowers sprout from me any time I’d like…

Image

Anyway, another cool thing happened on Friday! I finally began my work as a barista at Brewster’s! The point is to make coffee for 4 people daily and get their orders correct. Now, you can sit around and take notes on everyone and finally get their orders right or you can use a cheat sheet I posted on my website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com). Either way, it’s satisfying to get an order correct. And you can win prizes for getting a certain number correct! So make sure you go work every day!

Image

Oh Victoria, you do have the hots for me… Anyway, Brewster presented me with good coffee beans at the end of the day because I fudged the first two orders (before I found the cheat sheet). However, I felt pretty good about continuing on as a barista! 😉

Now, Saturday morning came and my Japanese friend messaged me back. For my shaved ice lamp, she got me 2 japanese exclusive items, a cucumber horse and an eggplant cow! I don’t know about fashion sense… But they’re still cool nonetheless!

Image

Unfortunately, after this it turns out she won’t be needing any more lamps. Hopefully we can work out trades in the future so I can get all of the japanese DLC I need! I also noted that morning on my houses remodeled exterior. It’s going towards the vision I have, a Zen Japanese styled town!

Image

I do want to keep inviting people to visit to hopefully reach 100 total and get my train station remodeled, but all in time. I was walking around town when I noticed Katie. I had to beg people online to let me bring her over, and luckily someone did…

Image

Returning home, you’ll remember that I demolished the main bridge through town. I replaced it with a wooden suspension bridge that’s more fitting to my theme. I chose the exact same spot and started the project!

Image

Visiting my island, I noticed that a silver axe was available! I was wondering when I’d see one of these! I picked it up by going on a couple tours!

Image

Once I had it, my town was my oyster and I finished cleaning up some trees that needed chopping 🙂

Image

While I think Victoria has the hots for me (no kids, I’m not into bestiality :P) she sure talks about my brother alot… Hmm…

Image

I paid off my bridge straight away! It would be finished by the next day!

Image

I called it a day after that depressing statement from Victoria. I thought she loved ME…

In the mail the next morning, Katie sent me a thank you gift, giving me her pic (Katie’s Picture). I won’t be showing this off in my home… But thanks Katie…

Image

I found some classy triangle shades at Labelle’s… Again, not something I’ll be keeping… The things one does for a complete catalog…

Image

I found Joan, who roams around every Sunday. As I stated in an earlier blog, I’m not one to take part in the stalk market, but this time around, I decided to give it a shot. Turnips were 99 bells, and I saw regular online posts for people whose towns have reached upwards of a 500 bell sale price. Hey, if you can multiply your money by 5, why not, right?

Image

Victoria came and found me, and it is apparent she’s using drugs again…

Image

I wish I could help her, she’s not making any sense these days… 😦 Anyway, I changed my router to “Bestbuy” because Sunday marked the release of the new DLC item, the rolling suitcase! In no time, I had one for myself! (If you need help doing this, again, visit my website).

Image

As my Sundays are very limited, I ended play for the day and decided to focus on what was to come!

For Tomorrow:

  • Hold another catalog event?
  • Trade with my European friend?
  • Look for more DLC!

Day 32: New 7-11 Item! :D

Just another day in the world of ACNL 🙂 This morning, due to my sudden wealth I came upon yesterday after my catalog event, I gave myself a break from beetle farming. It felt good to start up and not have to worry about catching as many beetles as possible in an hour and a half window. Things were looking good when I found my lucky ore rock of the day and it contained a gold nugget!

Image

I noticed while wandering through town that Saharah was visiting. I gave her a shot (like I always do…) which turned out rather ugly…

Image

But, both the carpet and wall are rare, so I’ll hold onto them lol. I swung by the completed fence project. Looks good! I just have no idea what to put inside of it…

Image

The finding of that gold nugget this morning brought my total up to 3! Now for those that don’t know, once you find 3 gold nuggets, you can take them to Cyrus at Re-Tail and he will fashion a piece of furniture from the Golden collection! (more on this on my website http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

Image

While waiting around, I decided to go in for work at Brewster’s… However… It appears I was not needed 😦

Image

Oh well, tomorrow’s another day. 🙂 Anyway, I decided to open my 4th and final museum exhibit titled “Odds & Ends Room”. It will showcase a random assortment of things, right now, my perfect fruit collection and the full zodiac set that I got a couple days back.

Image

I headed back to retail to see what Cyrus made me and he gave me the golden wall! Good way to start the collection I think, and I eventually want to have a full room in my basement.

Isabelle told me we were holding a ceremony for the wooden fence project, which was just like all the other ceremonies. I couldn’t decide on a project to start next, but I did want my bridges to be the same, so I chose the demolition of the original cobblestone bridge for tomorrow. Then I’ll rebuild it as a suspension bridge the next day.

Image

I paid off my house loan in full today. For tomorrow, rather than expanding my house, I decided to add to my theme I’m going for (the Japanese zen) and ordered a zen mailbox and zen castle exterior, both of which were available in Nook’s homes today.

Image

I went to buy flowers from the garden center and Leif decided to give me a gift for always buying flowers there. He presented me with the silver can! How lucky am I?

Image

For now, I decided to utilize the fence as a garden with flowers of all different colors. But we’ll see if that changes in the future.

Image

The last thing that happened was a bittersweet moment. Online, I saw someone who wanted to trade his soft-drink display for a 24-hour-shop uniform. Now, I do want all of the 7-11 items one day… But I haven’t heard back about catalogging my contact’s yet and I could use the display moreso than the uniform. I took him up on the trade and now have a new item in my catalog. The only downside is that now all of you fans can’t catalog the uniform until I possess another, but c’est la vie, right?

Image

This weekend should be fairly lazy, although on Sunday I will be downloading the suitcase Best Buy DLC! More info on that in the next post. Til then… 🙂

For the weekend:

  • I bought another shaved-ice lamp from a guy today for 1 million bells… I need to watch money, but it’s too late now. Maybe my Japanese friend will be up for another trade? 🙂
  • Downloading the suitcase Best Buy DLC, as I said.
  • Starting a new bridge project.
  • Starting work at Brewster’s? 😀
  • Will I ever get to catalog the 7-11 set? Will my new TT respond to me and find the rest of my NA holiday items? Stay tuned… 😉

Day 31: How To Make Money! (And more Japan DLC…)

Hello all! Yesterday’s activities finished up in me getting my hands on a clerk’s shirt. The shirt (while it neither appears rare or fashionable) was released by mistake as an early DLC in Japan before the 7-11 items came out. However, as it’s about 500 bells to order from the catalog, people are more than willing to give the thing away, thus leading me to get one! (if you want your own, visit my website at http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

Image

Anyway, back to this morning. I read the bulletin board to find out it’s Victoria’s birthday! I shall visit later… 🙂

Image

I hired a new time traveler who visited this morning with many event items for me, including a Resetti Model, shamrock hat, cool globe, picnic basket and sparkling cider. I was a little disappointed to find out the cider is just a hold item and doesn’t go in your catalog (i figured since the berliner I got last time was such a big deal that maybe… just maybe…)

Image

Nevertheless, it’s still cool! I swung by the orchard to check up on how the street lamp looks. It’s awesome! Brings personality to the whole place 🙂

Image

I also noticed someone new was camping in my town! However, I had much to do today so I didn’t take time to play his game (which would’ve won me a classic table… that I already have on catalog…)

Image

While digging spots around my town this morning, I was very surprised to find one that had a bamboo shoot. Maybe the game knew about my mistake I made and was trying to be nice and repay me? (After all, I’ve lost 3 total bamboo plants because I thought you could bury them next to each other… Do not do this…)

Image

That cool globe I got from my TT was put in my Rococo room… It fits the old fashioned style I’m going for!

Image

I headed by Brewster’s to see Gayle inside drinking… Oh boy, my favorite person. All that aside, Brewster finally opened up and told me that if I wanted, I could start part-time work for him tomorrow! Heck yeah, I’m in! 😀

Image

Isabelle held a celebration for the new street lamp… Yay…

Image

Today’s Nintendo items were a double (as in, I got 2 of the same fortune…) and they were both an Arwing, something I didn’t have! So it’s kind of bittersweet

Image

I was contacted online by someone looking for a top korean dlc item (reorderable) in exchange for a shaved-ice lamp! Of course, I took him up on this deal, and (as you may have seen by my last few blogs) contacted my Japanese friend who loves shaved-ice lamps right away. She told me she could get me two items, bamboo grass (which is an indoor plant item that is Japan only, just came out on July 7) and dango (which is a sort of doughy ball food). Both were put in my DLC Exhibit, adding more DLC to the list of cataloggable things for all you fans! 😀

Image

Not that anyone would truly care to note, but I added an electric guitar to my collection today! I can’t wait til I have a full fledged music studio… All in time haha

Image

I found an awesome pair of glasses today as well… er…

Image

Well anyway. Trying to decide what to do next, I made a major decision. I decided to set up an online board where I would let people come catalog ALL of my DLC for a mere 500k bells. The event was a huge success!

Image

A total of 16 people showed up today… and as you can imagine… My bank account felt pretty good after that!

Image

Given the helpfulness of this event, I will definitely be doing it again. 🙂 For those interested, look for me (SurferKing7) on GameFaqs! Anyway, a short while later, I got a thank you letter from the post office for a savings account of over 5 million bells. The gift included was an aluminum briefcase. Now I’m like a secret agent or something 🙂 hahaha

Image

I visited Dr. Shrunk today and learned the “shocked” emotion… very similar to the “disbelief” one I already have…

Image

I finally made it over to Victoria’s for her b-day and gave her flowers. There seemed to be no benefit to doing this (although I think if I give her a gift she really likes according to her personality that there would be something for me). Oh well, there will be more villager birthdays in the future.

Image

With my newfound savings account, I not only paid off my house, I started a new public works project, a fenced area, that will be completed tomorrow! Can’t wait!

Image

For Tomorrow:

  • Hold another catalog event? Most likely!
  • My new TT may bring more rare items… 🙂
  • I might FINALLY get to catalog the 7-11 set (from yet ANOTHER person who has contacted me)
  • Keep trying to get 100 visitors to my town to unlock a new train station
  • Perhaps visit the NA and EU Nintendo official dream towns that just opened? 😀

Day 30: Zodiac Statues, In The House!

Yesterday, after a lack in communication with my first time traveler, I was least expectant of my second. After all… Why should I trust anyone, right? Well, my second TT proved me wrong! That very afternoon, she messaged back saying that she had my statues ready! I went to her town and witnessed a double rainbow… already a good sign! 🙂

Image

Now I have all 12 zodiac statues and can share them with others for catalogging! That’s what I’m most excited about, the ability to share! (you can catalog them by visiting my website at http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

Image

The next thing I decided to do was test a rumor that Cyrus at Re-Tail could make a mini-fossil statue if you brought him all pieces of a fossil. I brought him a copy of the sabertooth (ensuring that it was in my museum first, of course. And set him to work. He did just that, and I received a sabertooth model! While it’s cool, I found out it doesn’t go into your catalog, so I most likely won’t be doing this for every fossil…

Image

I visited Dr. Shrunk yesterday afternoon as well and learned a new joke, the Pride emotion! Now I can make stars appear around me. I’m awesome.

Image

Something else useful I learned is that 4 gyroids are propped against the stage, and you can actually swap them out! I took a double of mine and traded it in for one of the ones up there that I didn’t have!

Image

Now finished with my whole zodiac experiment, I started a new public works project, deciding to put a street lamp in my orchard. However, since the TT thing depleted my bank account, I’d have to wait til tomorrow to pay it off…

Image

I also found a new face cutout standee design yesterday. Luigi’s pretty cool… but lucky cats are cooler!

Image

In what time I played yesterday after that (even though in my last blog I swore I was done for the day lol), I created a new tee shirt design for Trópica!

Image

Then I was REALLY done playing. Until the next day (aka, today lol)… I checked the mail this morning to find Gulliver’s present from Russia! It’s a Matryoshka doll set…. and it’s creepy…

Image

I spent a good chunk of my morning winning medals on the island because I noticed one of the items there was a wave breaker, and I desperately wanted to add it to my island room!

Image

As a reader pointed out in my last blog, despite the rumors that bamboo sprouts could be planted next to each other, apparently that isn’t true 😦 I checked outside and 2 of my new ones had died instantly. Oh well, now I have 3 total growing in town! Still pretty cool…

Image

And one nearly full grown.. 🙂

Image

I visited Gayle’s house (upon her request) and convinced her to part with a pine bonsai that looks perfect in my oriental room

Image

Heading north through town… that’s where I saw it again… need I say more? Arapaima!

Image

Between that and the morning’s beetle farming, I was able to pay off the street lamp project right away!

Image

Heading towards the beach, I noticed that another camper had arrived in my town! This time a bull named Rodeo. I talked to him a lot and got him to play a game to win his cardboard box if I could guess what fruit he ate 3 times in a row. I got 2 out of 3, so I spent 87 bells to buy his box… Oh boy!

Image

Perusing town once again, I heard the familiar “Swooosh” of a balloon gift. I popped it down and got yet another balloon tv…….. No words can express my happiness

Image

I visited Brewster’s to find Erik inside who said something I completely agree with!

Image

Brewster still hasn’t opened up to me, but he will in time. I also found another Jacob’s ladder in my town, so I decided to plant the two I now have out by my windmill…

Image

Today for Nintendo items, I got a dud and a block floor! I don’t remember if my museum exhibit has one yet or not, but if not, yay!

Image

The next thing I did was painful to me. I was after a German exclusive New Year project called a berliner. The only person on the whole internet who even seemed to have the item was asking for items from the sloppy set in return (basically, an unorderable set that’s fairly rare to come by). I parted with my sloppy dresser to get my hands on this German treat… Hopefully i’ll come across it again in the future… but now I can add another notch to my DLC belt and let my fans catalog it!

Image

Wanting to set up my house expansion, I needed a way to earn enough bells. So I set up an online event so that people who didn’t have the Japanese exclusive Campus Set could come catalog it for 50k. Before I knew it, the bells were flowing in, and I made enough for today!

Image

I also learned another Shrunk emotion, this time, the “shock” one (despair I think?) I’ll touch base on this tomorrow!

For Tomorrow:

  • I have a friend who might get me rare event items… we’ll see! 🙂
  • The search for more DLC continues…
  • I don’t know, it’s a surprise I guess 😀
  • I might get to catalog some 7-11 items! Exciting!

Day 29: Bamboozled!

In a feeling of falling behind, I decided to use my time traveler fund yesterday afternoon to pay off my public works project stadium light… I can earn it back after all…

Image

Anyway, with that bit of info, this morning started out kinda rough. After the high I’ve been on for the last few days (what, with 7-11 items and rare korean DLC), I just wasn’t striking any luck in getting items like the German exclusive berliner and other 7-11 items. And to top it all off, one of my bamboo shoots died 😦

Image

Be that as it may, I swung by the new stadium light. It looks pretty fancy 🙂

Image

I next visited Brewster’s and got a coffee to go. This is cool! Now I can carry it around with me and keep it forever and ever… lol

Image

While roaming around town, I found a tent pitched in the campsite! A hamster creature named Hamphrey was visiting. He was pretty chill.

Image

I next visited Re-Tail and found out my last custom picture frame was done. Now my music studio in the upstairs of my house looks pretty legit! I need to start collecting instruments!

Image

I visited the Nookling’s to check on my Nintendo items of the day, but only found a repeat Toad Hat and a void ticket. Like I said, it might be easier to trade for the last few items I need rather than wait for luck to strike me.

Image

A player online posted that he was offering up bamboo shoots for free. I took up his offer and grabbed 4 more to plant near my house. Let’s hope these have better luck!

Image

While scanning the beach, I found that Gulliver had washed ashore again! It has been quite some time since I’ve seen him (which it’s only been once). This time he riddled me about a dance where the hips are really low to the ground. The answer was Russia, and he told me he’d send me an item in the mail! Can’t wait! (Need help with Gulliver’s quizzes? Visit my website http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

Image

I got my painting in the mail, which I gladly donated to the museum. The art section always takes time (especially since you can only buy one item from Redd’s at a time)

Image

I then set up my online board to let people come and catalog my rare DLC items. As I said in a previous blog, it’s my goal to reach 100 visitors so that I unlock a train station upgrade. I’m slowly making my way there. When I wrapped up the board today, I noticed Phineas walking around town! He had a new badge to give me, the Good Host badge! I guess inviting people over has paid off! 🙂

Image

Isabelle led a celebration for the stadium light that many villagers showed up to…

Image

And I managed to get my hands on an ebony piano and a drum kit for my music studio! Now it’s all coming together nicely. I know not a lot happened today, but tomorrow should be exciting! 😀 Thanks for tuning in y’all.

Image

For Tomorrow:

  • I gave up on my first time traveler. I found another willing to do the job for 1.2 million bells, so tomorrow should be the lucky day!
  • Start a new public works project
  • Get more people to come to my town to get closer to a train station upgrade
  • Search for more rare items to trade for? We’ll see what I can get 🙂
