Day 18: When The Beetles Come Out To Play…

I noted a few blogs ago that I would not really discuss beetle farming any more. However, I have to make note about this morning. I didn’t think I’d even be able to secure enough bells to pay off my house loan, but man, the rare ones were coming out all morning long!

Image

I returned home in the morning a very happy camper (as you might note by my haul for the day, the bell bags scattered all over my floor)

Image

I went and visited town hall where Isabelle told me we’d be having a ceremony for the wind turbine project. It looks great!

Image

As for my next project, I was torn between many choices. I almost went with the face-cutout standee but decided against it as I’m not ready to sit down and design one of those yet.

Instead, I chose the park clock project, and decided to locate it near my train station

Image

I swung by the Orchards to catch up on the fruit growing process. To my surprise, all of my fruit had grown back since Brandon’s visit. If you take a look in the picture, you can glimpse every single fruit (minus coconut and banana, beach fruits) in the game

Image

I went to the Museum 2nd Floor to see what was new there. I found a silver rod in the shop due to a commemoration of 30 donated fish species to the museum!

Image

Pretty happy about my find, I visited Nook’s Homes to check in on my HHA score. I was shocked to find that my score had skyrocketed since I completed my Rococo series in one of the rooms of my house…

Image

Lyle told me gifts would arrive in the mail. I headed over to the Able Sisters to find a royal crown, an item that is unfortunately far too expensive for me to buy at this time.. 😦

Image

Nevertheless, I kept on my shopping spree. I headed over to the Nookling’s to get my Nintendo fortunes of the day. The first one contained a Blue Falcon, with the fortune quoting Captain Falcon. The second one gave me a copy of the Yoshi’s Egg, once again going to charity lol.

Image

I gathered all of my money and paid off the funding for the park clock…

Image

I then made a trip back home and took a snapshot of my complete Rococo series room. Apparently a full set of items brings in major HHA points, so I’ll have to look into completing my other series…

Image

I then took on the daunting task of paying my 498,000 bell home loan (paying loans isn’t cheap)…

Image

On the way back through my village, I saw Pete was out delivering letters. He doesn’t give you anything, but I always think it’s cool to see him when he’s out and about.

Image

I then found out that you can open exhibit rooms on the Museum 2nd floor. This would prove the perfect opportunity to house all of my Nintendo items somewhere other than my basement…

Image

So I created a poster for my exhibit with an 8-bit Link pattern that I made (QR code will be available on the website, http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com).

Image

And started a new project I simply called Nintendo Exhibit (creative, I know)

Image

Hopefully it will begin to blossom with new Nintendo items. That completed my day!

For Tomorrow:

  • STILL no word on Dr. Shrunk
  • Round up rest of June fish & bugs
  • Probably not gonna be able to pay off my loan…
  • But maybe able to start and complete another public works project! We shall see 🙂

Day 17: Balloon Gifts!

This morning after beetle farming, I check out my HHA gift that I received for having over 20,000 points, the HHA Pennant. Pretty classy…. (yeah, it’s being stored away, but here’s a pic for kicks lol)

Image

My house is finally coming into the theme I want, which is oriental. With the addition of the Japanese DLC kagamimochi, it’s feeling more like a home 🙂

Image

I checked my mail to find a letter from Katie, the kitten I helped travel to another village yesterday. She sent me a globe! How bout that?

Image

Traveling around town, I found out that Saharah was in for a visit. Time to see what she can do to my place!

Image

Normally I don’t go for her style remodels, but she actually gave me a really nice floor that suits my oriental room much better! The wall she gave me isn’t great… But I can always change that!

Image

I went to check out the newly finished Museum 2nd Floor that I made a public works project last time. It is upstairs in the Museum and I could now visit Celeste, another owl. She has a whole shop opened upstairs with rooms for showing off exhibits. I think I’m gonna open one for all of my Nintendo stuff (get it out of my house lol). Anyway, another cool thing is that she was selling silver nets today in honor of my contribution of over 30 insects to the museum! I grabbed one of course.

Image

I next ran to the Nookling’s store to see what my Nintendo items would be for the day. I received a new one, a ? Block, along with another Virtual Boy that I will be giving away.

Image

Returning home, I found that some orange roses had magically appeared by my house. Freaky… I thought those were special… Well, they’re cool at least!

Image

Talking to Ken, one of my villagers, he asked me to find something the same size as his circle banner. I didn’t know what that was and I couldn’t enter his house to see (because he was out walking around…) So I grabbed a few random furniture items from the store and talked to him. He took one, and I was thinking that I would now get the circle banner, but instead he gave me a shirt….

Image

Ah the woes of helping villagers… Oh well lol. I then heard the swoosh noise that often accompanies balloon gifts. I have not seen one yet in this game! Excitedly, I ran about until I spotted the floating present.

Image

Knocking it down, I found the gift inside to be a Balloon Hat. I don’t care much for the look, but they are kind of “rare” items, so I will keep it!

Image

I visited Nook’s Homes and was astonished after talking to Lyle. Apparently, somehow, my HHA score keeps rising. I hit 30,000 points and would be sent another gift via mail!

Image

I decided to go to Town Hall and do my mayoral duties for the day. On the way, I spotted another balloon gift. Wow, what luck! This one contained a Balloon Lamp.

Image

I talked to Isabelle and she wanted to hold a ceremony for the opening of the Museum 2nd Floor. Of course, I obliged, but the meeting was held at the train station…

Image

I caught up with Pecan, one of my villagers, after the ceremony. She told me she had interest in building a modern clock as a public works project. After looking at the design, I’m going to have to deny this because it is ugly in my opinion…

Image

Instead, I decided to make my next project a wind turbine which I’m building on a southern cliff near the ocean!

Image

Of course… it didn’t take long before the project’s donation goals were met…

Image

I traveled home to find I had new mail. These letters included my new HHA gift, an HHA Jacket, and an item I bought from the HHA Plaza in Reggie’s house. It’s called a festive lantern, and the reason I bought it is because it is going to soon be a special exclusive spotpass item in Europe, and this saved me the trouble of trading with a European player. And plus, it fits my decor.

Image

I then met a new villager, Hazel. Walking in to her house, I was creeped out by her looks… Not what I was expecting…

Image

I then paid off my huge 498,000 bell loan and called it a day. With 20,000 bells left in my pocket, I don’t know if tomorrow I’ll be able to pull off another expansion AND another public works project, but I’ll sure try!

Image

For Tomorrow:

  • New public works project (don’t know what yet) and completion of wind turbine
  • Try to round up any bugs/fish I don’t have that will disappear at the end of the month
  • Pay off next home expansion?
  • Where in the world did Dr. Shrunk disappear to? Still nowhere to be found…
  • Check out the website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)! Especially the catalog page, which is going under some major updates. It’s looking great!

Day 16: My Body Is Ready!

The interesting times started yesterday night when I turned on my 3DS to find that there was a new spotpass visitor in my Happy Home Academy model home area on main street. The visitor was none other than Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimes, who assured me that his body was ready!

Image

The cool thing about spotpassing/streetpassing homes into your Happy Home Academy is that you can buy all orderable furniture in the house! Reggie’s home had two items that caught my eye, both being rare DLC that can’t be found elsewhere (without trading). The first is the carp banner and the second is a festival lantern that will be released as a European exclusive next month. How bout that? Both of these items, of course, will be available on my website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

While you can only order 5 items per house per day, Reggie’s house was quite the experience… I mean… look at his bed…

Image

Anyway, heading back into town, I passed by the river and noticed a large shadow. None other than another Dorado! I keep adding bells to my pocket 🙂

Image

I then decided to design a new shirt, the “Beach Tour” Sweatshirt, which will be available as a QR Code on the website soon!

Image

Yesterday night, I joined up with my brother Brandon for exciting multiplayer adventures. If you would like to request to visit his village, his link is on my website too under “Villagers”

Image

Perhaps in the gayest moment of my life thus far… We rode in the boat to visit his island while being serenaded by Kapp’n……..

Image

After a ton of beetle farming, we left for the night feeling satisfied.

This morning, I was approached by Frank, who told me he had an idea for a new public works project. He recommended I build a wind turbine in my town. I don’t know if this will be next on the list, but it is something I definitely want to do eventually…

Image

Upon exiting my house a bit later, I was greeted (shockingly) by Resetti. Afraid that I mistakenly turned off my 3DS the night before, I listened on to find out that he was just there to thank me for building the Surveillance Center.

Image

I headed up to check out my shop’s items for the day and grabbed my two Nintendo fortunes. Both fortunes contained the same exact lucky ticket, giving me two copies of the Triple Bananas.

Image

Apparently, I’m also getting another villager in my town (like I need any more right now…)

Image

I talked to Victoria, and she informed me that there was a little girl wandering around the town somewhere and that I should find out where she is.

Image

I started the search, swinging by the new Resetti Surveillance Center. Unfortunately, there’s no entering the place unless it’s a specific time of the day and of the week… So for now it’s just a manhole cover lol

Image

Somehow, I woke up this morning and my character had been stricken with a case of “bad luck”. So, every so often he would trip and fall, leading for the task to find the little lost kitten to be tedious.

Image

I was also reminded how much my villagers like my brother better than me…

Image

Anyway, a while later, I finally found the little kitten named Katie. She asked me if I’d escort her to another town, and I agreed.

Image

Luckily, a kind person online willingly let me in to drop her of in their town. So long Katie…

Image

I next decided on my next public works project. Of course, since yesterday I’ve been eager to get started on the Museum 2nd Floor, so it was an obvious choice.

Image

I then headed to Town Square where I found out the Redd was in town! Entering his hut, I found only one of his items to not be a fake (for info on how to tell fakes from real art, visit my website). I ordered the Flowery Painting and am still awaiting its arrival in the mail.

Image

I headed back home to find my mailbox stuffed with things I ordered (both from Reggie’s house and my catalog). Throughout the course of yesterday, I found several online players who helped me get more Japanese DLC so it can be available to all of you. I now have a blossom lantern, kagamimochi, Girl’s Day updo, Emperor’s hat, Hinaningyo and a Sunrise Lamp. I was a busy kid yesterday 🙂 My house is coming together as well.

Image

By and by, I also found a lost mitten. After searching through villagers, I found the owner to be none other than Victoria.

Image

With upwards of 800k bells of profit from last night’s beetle farming expedition with Brandon, I had no problem in paying off the museum 2nd floor fund…

Image

…..and my next house loan….

Image

Talking to Lyle, I found (strangely) that my HHA score had exceeded 20,000 and I would be sent a prize in the mail! Cool!

Image

After that massive runthrough, I can’t await what tomorrow holds!

For Tomorrow:

  • Museum 2nd Floor will be built
  • New public works project (maybe wind turbine?)
  • Where did Dr. Shrunk run off to? Geez…
  • Maybe try and get a full working catalog on the website?
  • Pay off next house loan
  • Meet the new villager!

Day 15: Museum 2nd Floor Coming!

Yesterday I discussed some of the cool Japanese DLC that I was trying to get a hold of. I don’t think I put up pictures yet, but I managed to get the complete Campus Set in physical form…

Image

And the nice Aurora Screen… courtesy of a friendly player who was willing to trade for some Japanese DLC I had already gotten a hold of!

Image

These, of course, will be available to buy on the main website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com) for a low price and/or free to catalog!

So! Now to this morning… Nothing too exciting today unfortunately 😦

I had another ceremony to celebrate the accomplishment of building my street lamp…

Image

Now I can go to Narnia and all that cool stuff haha. I decided to visit Nook and get going on my other room expansions I have left. I tackled the basement next, I think that’s a good place to start since that’s where I’m storing all of my Nintendo items I get.

Image

Speaking of Nintendo items, today’s lucky fortunes got me a second pair of Varia suit pants, which I’ll be giving away, and a Yoshi Egg!

Image

I then decided on my next public works project, and guess what? I finally got around to it! The Resetti Surveillance Center will be the next project to take effect!

Image

328k bells or something crazy like that. Good thing I’m super rich…

Image

The last truly awesome thing to happen today occurred when I brought some fossils in to the museum. Blathers wasn’t sleeping as he normally does, but he was thinking…

Image

I talked to him to see what was up and he told me he thought it would be a good idea to add a 2nd floor to the museum! This means that it will be a public works project soon and I will have to push it forth because I’ve been waiting to get my hands on some silver tools available in the shop up there!

That’s all for today. I’m meeting up with Brandon, my brother, later, so pictures will be posted in tomorrow’s daily blog.

For Tomorrow:

  • Check up on Dr. Shrunk… When is Club LOL gonna open?
  • Resetti Surveillance Center will be open and explored
  • The Museum 2nd Floor project will be started
  • MAJOR website updates
  • Possibly meeting up for more exclusive Japanese DLC… We’ll see 🙂

Day 14: Petition for Club LOL!

Today started out the normal way. Nothing really new except for more rain. I visited town hall where Isabelle invited me to celebrate the opening of the new fountain in town.

Image

It looks pretty good! While I stated that I wanted to tackle the Resetti Surveillance Center next, I decided to pay off my debt instead, and that will have to wait until tomorrow…

Image

After the celebration was over, I saw a huge shadow swimming around in the river. I got out my trusty fishing pole and gave it a plop and to my surprise, I caught a Dorado, a rare river fish!

Image

As stated in my previous blog, Dr. Shrunk confronted me and wanted me to rally signatures to build a new place on main street, Club LOL. I visited him and got the signature sheet that I would need to petition for it!

Image

While I was up there, I decided to head over and check out Kicks, the new shoe store in town.

Image

I then went to the Nook’n’go store and received my Nintendo items for the day. It turns out that I got a triple red shells and a blue pikmin hat!

Image

Image

I visited the Able Sisters next, and to my surprise, Sable decided to give me another mannequin… even though Mabel gave me one yesterday…

Image

Despite the exponential amounts of fun I’ll be having with a 2nd one of those, I did get the QR machine up and running, and my “Surf On” Tee will now be available for download on my main website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com)

Image

Anyway, I ended out my day with the collection of six signature for my petition (easy to get, everyone seemed compliant enough)

Image

I then headed back to Dr. Shrunk, who said I did a great job and told me the club would open in a few days. More surprises to come tomorrow, I’m sure. By and by, the Orchards are looking better than ever. Nearly complete, and the website will soon host a section for which fruits are in stock there.

For Tomorrow:

  • Check in on Club LOL’s progress
  • Japanese DLC Updates!
  • A visit from Brandon! (check the website for info on his town, etc)
  • Finally, Resetti Surveillance Center public works will be started.

Day 13: Lazy Sunday Morning

As previously stated, today is nothing special, just the normal routine of things. Of course, as every Sunday in Animal Crossing land, Joan was roaming around trying to sell turnips.

Image

I’m not one to take part in the stalk market, so I passed on this. I then went and had a celebration for the opening of the new signpost… But nobody showed up! 😦

Image

Aw well, it was worth it, because check out that new sign!

Image

The Orchards have come along well. As you can see, most of the fruit has grown in. I still need to grow a couple more trees, but this is the gist of it…

Image

I also finally discovered the new shop that has been built in between the Able Sisters and the Museum. It’s Kicks, a shoe store! Unfortunately, my schedule today won’t allow me to visit, but tomorrow I will!

Image

A little short on money for anything major, I made my next public works project a fountain and had it placed by the river near the entrance to my town.

Image

Of course, I had just enough to cover the project and tomorrow it will be built!

Image

I then traveled to the Nooklings’ store and purchased all my usual furniture items and the Nintendo items for today. I received a second Block (which I will be giving away) and my other fortune led to no prize so I got a washbasin for trying.

All in all, just a boring day here, but tomorrow should be exciting. Today I was contacted by Dr. Shrunk right upon starting up my game, and he wants me to collect signatures to petition for the opening of Club LOL. This will be my goal tomorrow!

For Tomorrow:

  • Get signatures for Club LOL
  • Start a new Public Works Project (I’m really thinking the Resetti Surveillance Center this time around)
  • Possibly another rare Japanese DLC item… We’ll see if the guy comes through
  • Updates to the website
  • Check out Kicks and see what it’s all about!

Day 12: Japanese DLC! And a new shop too!

On a first note of the day, I am proud to say that I finally met up with that Japanese player I keep talking about and got my hands on the rare DLC, including a cherry blossom clock, leaf bed, and sprout table! I will eventually have these available on my website (http://animalcrossingnewleaf.moonfruit.com) for any players who wish to come visit and buy them from me! The search for more Japanese exclusive items continues, but for now these are cool…

Image

Image

Yesterday, I also designed a new shirt! Most of you don’t know who I am, but I’m actually a beach themed pop-rock music artist, and this shirt resembles a typical shirt I would wear in real life! So to see it turn out so great was awesome! The front says Hollister, which is a popular brand name on the US west coast, and the back says “Surf On” with a surfboard.

Image

Image

Today was another rainy day in Trópica. It looks like my palm tree project is turning out nicely, you’ll just have to wait and see what I have in store…

Image

Also, my house upgrade came through with that left room! As the morning ensued, I had to do my regular island routine to rake in some bells and pay back the Nook man…

Image

But not without a little celebration first! I headed over to the town hall where Isabelle told me we will be celebrating the opening of the Dream Suite (despite my creepy adventure yesterday, I had good spirits haha)

Image

I checked out Trópica Orchards and everything is coming along nicely. Before you know it, this fruit will be available to the public. Can’t wait to invite others to come over here!

Image

To celebrate the Orchards, I made my next public works project a signpost that will be where my design is on the ground there. Of course, paying it off was no big deal at all…

Image

I next headed up to main street to check out my newly upgraded shop! I’m very impressed, right off the bat I got a slingshot, an item I’ve been graciously awaiting (as I’ve watched several balloons float on off into the sky….) Another great thing about this is the fact that two fortunes are available a day AND my catalog is finally accessable!!!

Today’s Nintendo items I received were the hero’s pants, a legend of Zelda item I believe, and another copy of the Master Sword which I will most likely be giving away.

I headed over to the post office and paid off my loan…..

Image

I decided on adding an extra room to my home rather than expanding at the moment. Then I’ll have all of my rooms and can focus on pure expansion. There was a cool oriental door that I almost bought rather than upgrading my house, but I decided it wasn’t for me.

The next thing that happened is something else I’ve been waiting for! Mable finally decided to talk to me about that QR machine.

Image

Now I can import designs by taking a picture of a QR Code with the 3DS. I think my “Surf On” Tee might become a QR item on my webpage, so keep checking in on that!

As an ending surprise for the day, I received a mannequin from Mable for purchasing so much stuff from them. I don’t know what the requirements are for getting one, so it came as a sort of shock to me.

Image

All in all, a great day! I won’t be updating the website until Monday, so hang tight if you’re waiting to come visit. Tomorrow should be a lazy day (not much time to play) but I still have a couple of things to look forward to in the morning…

For Tomorrow:

  • Public works project, the signpost, will be completed. I will then start another… maybe Resetti Surveillance Center haha
  • Catalog items will arrive at my home. I ordered the Campus Set, a Japanese exclusive set, so we’ll see about it and get it available for the public.
  • Possibly look into QR coding my shirt design
  • Will that mystery shop between the Able Sisters and the Museum open tomorrow? We’ll see!
